1.) Eat The Right Breakfast-
Get into the habit of drinking a glass of water as one of the first things you do. This helps rehydrate the body and provides the body with the proper place to store essential vitamins and minerals. Although it may be more convenient to stop for a doughnut or breakfast pastry, you want to eat the right breakfast that will help fuel your body for the day as well. Eat a high protein or fiber filled breakfast. Not only will this keep you fuller for longer, which will reduce your chances of afternoon mindless snacking, it gets the metabolism going and makes the brain more alert.
Fit a simple exercise routine into your mornings. Exercising in the morning can help you stress less throughout the day and gets your body ready to take on the day. A good cardio workout can help reduce anxiety as well as help you focus your thoughts.

Before you even get out of bed you should give yourself a little pep talk to set the mood for the rest of the day. Get a healthy lunch ready to take with you to work so you do not have to worry about running out of time. Lay out your clothes so you do not waste time figuring out what to wear and have all your work or general necessities organized and ready to go for when you need to leave the next day. Taking a few minutes to write out a short to-do list for the following day is also a smart choice. You will already know what needs to be done. This can have a huge impact on your stress and anxiety the following day. By prepping the night before you can calmly get ready the next morning without having to rush at full speed.
5.) Have A Bedtime And Wake Up Routine–
One of the most important things you can do to have a healthier and happy day is to create a bedtime routine and a morning routine. Shut off the electronics, TV, phone and computers at least half an hour before you go to bed to let your brain slowly shut down. The lights and graphics from electronic devices keeps the brain alert which is not the way you want to try to go to sleep. If you need to get to bed a little bit earlier so you can get a full night sleep then do it in fifteen minute increments each night. Before you lay down to sleep crack the curtains a little to let the natural light of the sun fill your room in the morning. Light is the best way to start waking up the brain and sunlight can ultimately make you happier. If you are going to set an alarm set one that can slowly wake you up. Having a loud alarming sound shock you awake is not the best way to start your day. Instead of being shocked awake by a blaring sound set a more natural tone that will gradually get louder and in turn, gradually let you wake up on your own.
Though exercise and diet has a lot to do with being healthy, it is just as important to take care of yourself mentally to be healthy as well. By utilizing these five suggestions you will not only start your day off with a healthier breakfast, but with a much healthier mind set as well.
