10 Simple Habits That Can Completely Change Your Life

Life is not all about the big things, it is merely a collection of several little things. As such, the following ten habits are as simple as they come, but will have a great effect on your personal development and completely change your life.

  1. Drink More Water

By drinking at least half of your body weight in ounces each day, you can ward off a number of health issues and keep your skin looking healthy and youthful. You will not only look better, but you will also feel better, too!

  1. Add Movement

We allow ourselves to become too sedentary, especially in this modern society filled with desk jobs. While you don't need to run 4 miles a day to change your life, adding a brisk walk after dinner or during your lunch break can work wonders.

  1. Smile!

Not only do you look more inviting, but you release powerful endorphins that make you more pleasant to be around. Your stress levels are also reduced.

  1. Lose The Short Term Diets

Unless you are committed to a diet over the long haul, leave it alone. Studies show that short term diets only have short term effects, making them far from worthwhile.

  1. Make Healthy Food Ahead Of Time

Take a moment during your weekends to chop up some veggies for your daily dinners and lunches or write down a detailed meal plan for the week. This reduces stress and lets you become healthier.

  1. Get Your Seven Hours

Stop ignoring the importance of sleep. When you repeatedly lose sleep, this leads to sleep debt, which cannot be remedied in a single night. Can't sleep? Tip #2 should help immensely, as an active body will actually crave bedtime.

  1. Pack Lunch

Sure, those $10-20 restaurant meals are quick and tasty. But they are not truly filling, nor are they good for your long term health. By controlling what you consume, you are changing your life.

  1. Eat More Greens

Never eating greens is for little kids and you're not a little kid, right? Healthy, functional adults make sure to eat plenty of greens and you should work them into as many meals as possible.

  1. Meet New People

With all of the social media emphasis on “Day 1” friends, we tend to lose sight of the simple joys that come from meeting interesting people and expanding our current horizons. Breathe some new life into your world and make some new friends.

  1. Save A Pet

Don't fall into the trap of spending oodles on a specially bred pet. There are thousands, if not millions, of animals just waiting to be rescued. Having a loyal animal in your life gives you someone else to care about, wards off depression and imparts the important lesson that it is not all about you.

None of these habits take a great deal of effort to implement, but their effect on your existence can be massive. Personal development is all about looking at your life and making the necessary changes. If you have fallen into a rut, implement these new habits and change your entire life.
